Strawberry Kolt, HIS
Hearing Instrument Specialist
I have spent the last 20 years of my career helping people improve their lives. I began working at Advanced Audiology in 2011 in the billing department. Watching so many of our patients have the enjoyment of hearing again drew me to start studying hearing and hearing loss. At that point I began to take many courses and tests to get my hearing aid dispensing license. Choosing this profession has given me great joy. Knowing that I am helping to improve my patients lives through better hearing and communication with their families is very fulfilling.
John Shim, Au.D.
Audiologist
I earned a bachelor’s degree in music technology/Audio Engineering at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) then went to Arizona State University (ASU) for a Doctorate in Audiology. During my study, I participated in many research projects as I was eager to know newer ways to enhance hearing. I love that our field incorporates technology with healthcare, and I feel privileged to use my expertise to positively impact others with better hearing.
Karen Castro, HIS
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Proudly serving patients at Advanced Audiology since 2019, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to hear and connect with their loved ones and community. I discovered my passion for helping others while studying Communication Disorders at Cal State LA. My favorite part of what I do is seeing patients’ and their families’ lives change for the better in an instant. In 2011 received Bachelor’s degree from Mills College in Political, Legal and Economic Analysis and in 2019 a Postbaccalaureate in Communication Disorders from California State University Los Angeles. I cherish leisure time spent with my faithful companion, Bells or you can find me volunteering at the local zoo’s research department.
